Dr. Ilene E. Wilkins has been the President/CEO of UCP of Central Florida since 2002 (and previously the center/school director since 1995. She also serves as the Superintendent for the UCP Charter School LEA.
Dr. Wilkins has over two decades of experiences in education and was the initial founder of the UCP Charter Schools consortium. Dr. Wilkins has served as a national and statewide leader in the field of charter schools and disabilities including appointed by the Governor as the Chairman of the Florida Interagency Coordinating Council for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities for Children’s Medical Services. She currently serves as a member of the Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County and is a member of the FSU Medical School faculty. Dr. Wilkins has been honored as the Central Florida Women of the Year by the Women’s Executive Council and CEO of the Year for the Orlando Business Journal.
Dr. Wilkins has Bachelors from New York University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Suffolk University and received her doctorate in Exceptional Education from the University of Central Florida.Dr. Wilkins was previously a foster parent to over 150 children and has seven children, 13 grandchildren and three dogs.
