UCP Charter Schools offer before and after school programs at all our campuses (hours vary by campus) based on availability/space. The cost ranges from $20-$27 per week for before school care and $60-$69 per week for after school care. Rates and hours vary by campus.
The before/after school programs are staffed by our Paraprofessionals/Lead Teacher Assistants andTeacher Assistants. The program provides homework help, arts and crafts, gross motor activities, and outside fun time. Some campuses also offer specialized clubs such as soccer club, robotics, drama/music, etc.
If you are interested in before/after school services – check with your Family Services Case Manager for availability. Once availability is confirmed – the next step is to sign a contract with the Education Program Coordinator at the campus.
UCP Charter Schools are generally open for Camp days when there is no school if there is enough parent interest (exception is first week of Winter Break and Spring Break when we are totally closed). Cost is $32-$48 per day (rates vary by campus). Parents need to sign up/pay a deposit no later than 2 weeks before the camp day.
UCP Charter Schools also provide various summer enrichment camp/programs at our elementary campuses. At the UCP Summer Camp Programs children experience new things, develop new skills, and have fun along the way. We create an exciting, safe environment for kids of all abilities, so they have an unforgettable summer of fun. While they’re taking part in unique experiences and adventures, they’re also building self-esteem, developing interpersonal and leadership skills and making lasting friendships and memories. These special themes help bring extra fun and camp craziness to the week! Each week, songs, crafts, games, literacy and math lessons, projects, and other activities plus a special in-camp or out-of-camp field trip will be designed to explore and embody the camp theme. Children are grouped by age.Full day program costs between $115-$155 per week (with before/aftercare available for an additional fee). This free full day/full summer program provides the school readiness skills your child needs to be ready for a successful kindergarten experience. Eligible children are 4 years of age and entering kindergarten in the fall. Students that have completed the program during the previous school year are not eligible. Summer VPK is taught by a bachelor level certified teacher.To give students, the skills necessary to be successful in kindergarten, class sizes and student/teacher ratios are kept small. In 2018 – UCP Charter Schools will be offering a free Summer Reading Camps for UCP Charter School third grade students with reading difficulties. The Summer Reading Camps will offer students who scored Level 1 on the Florida Standards Assessment opportunities to advance and improve their reading skills. During the Summer Reading Camp experience, high quality reading instruction will be provided for students to achieve the goal of reading on grade level.
ESY services are provided during the summer for eligible special education students to help them maintain skills that are related to their Individual Education Plan goals and objectives. Regression and recoupment are factors used to determine if a student is eligible for ESY services.The decision for ESY eligibility is made by the Individual Education Plan (IEP) team.
UCP of Central Florida offers physical, speech and occupational therapy for charter school students and for children in the community who attend other schools. This is a great opportunity to retain skills acquired throughout the school year. We offer a discounted prompt pay rate ($45 session), and accept most commercial insurances and Medicaid. At our Title I eligible campuses, UCP Charter Schools offer free after school tutoring for our 3rd– 5th grade students who would benefit from additional academic support. Other tutoring options are also available at various campuses including our University of Central Florida student tutoring partnership program.Please contact your child’s teacher or School Administrator for more details.
In 2018 – UCP Charter Schools will be offering our first UCP Handwriting Summer camp. The Handwriting summer camp will utilize the Handwriting Without Tears program that focuses on a hands-on and multi-sensory approach to writing. The programs will be provided on an individual and small group basis. The camp will be offering a six-week session for children from PreK through 2nd grade.
